Arkansas Couples Encouraged To Convert Their Marriages
To Covenant Marriages

The Covenant Marriage Movement continues to affirm the activity of God throughout our nation in calling couples and congregations back to an understanding of, and adherence to, marriage as a covenant relationship.

On Monday afternoon, Gov. Mike Huckabee and Dennis Rainey of FamilyLife announced their effort to initiate a change in the marriages of Arkansas Gov. Huckabee and first lady Janet Huckabee, along with Dennis Rainey. They are asking that at least 1,000 Arkansas couples join them in a Valentine's Day marriage renewal ceremony at Alltel Arena in North Little Rock. During the ceremony, they will encourage couples to convert their marriages to covenant marriages. We applaud the efforts of Gov. Mike and first lady Janet Huckabee, as well as Dennis Rainey, in raising the bar rather than lowering the standard for marriages in their state. We encourage congregations and couples to participate in this historical event as God continues to turn our hearts and homes back to Him.
